Claire Williams

Claire Williams

Former Deputy Team Principal of Williams Racing, Claire Williams led the team’s strategic and competitive operations from 2013 to 2020. Under her leadership, Williams secured back-to-back 3rd place finishes in the Constructors’ Championship in 2014 and 2015. She is currently a Brand Ambassador for WAE Technologies and Santander Global Bank, Vice President of the Spinal Injuries Association, and an expert Formula 1 analyst on Netflix’s Drive To Survive.

Business Leadership and Legacy: Claire became one of only two women to lead a Formula 1 team in the modern era. From 2013 to 2020, she oversaw Williams Racing’s strategic and competitive operations, guiding the team to 3rd place in the Constructors’ Championship in 2014 and 2015, its best results since 2003. When her father, Frank Williams, stepped back from operational duties, Claire became the family representative on the company board, shaping the team’s long-term direction and governance.

Advocacy for Diversity and Inclusion: Claire has championed greater diversity and inclusion within Williams Racing and across motorsport. She played a pivotal role in enabling Susie Wolff to become the first female driver to participate in a Formula 1 race weekend since 1992.

Philanthropy and Strategic Ambassadorship: As Vice President of the Spinal Injuries Association, Claire promoted workplace opportunities for spinal cord-injured individuals. In 2023, she launched the Sir Frank Williams Academy, providing life-changing care and support, with backing from Williams Racing. She also serves as a Brand Ambassador for organisations including WAE Technologies and Santander Global Bank.
