Employee Retention Refresh: Considerations and Tactics to Take You Into 2025
Dan Cline is a veteran Team leader with over 31 years of executive-level experience in the building services industry, including company ownership. After eight years at the helm of his Kansas City-based building services company, he sold the business to 4M Building Solutions in 2001, joined its executive ranks, and has held VP-level roles since. Presently, he leads operations in the ten-state Midwest and Southeast division, which has been recognized as Division of the Year (2007-2019). Dan’s career success is based on one word: leadership. For Dan, leadership is not about giving orders; it’s about painting a vision for his team, creating a roadmap, and providing the necessary support for success. Dan's primary focus is challenging Team Members to get comfortable with discomfort. When they are outside their comfort zones, he joins them with advice, empathy, encouragement, mentorship, and support as they chart their course for success. He is recognized for his ability to manage uncertainty. He gathers and reviews all the data and information available to the team, then recognizes and focuses on the critical activities that are key to a project's failure or success. He coaches his team to operate in the same way, encouraging them to make better, more informed decisions by minimizing emotion, mitigating risk, and focusing on rational, critical thinking, and analytics. Dan is a Certified Building Service Executive (CBSE) through the Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI). He’s also active in the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), and the International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA) Dan and his wife, Trish, live in Kansas City, Mo., and have two grown children.
